6.5 mm (.264 in) Creedmoor is known for its high sectional density, ballistic coefficients, and often have been used successfully in rifle competitions. The 6.5mm Creedmoor was designed for target shooting at longer ranges, and as such, couples a sensible case volume to bore area ratio with ample space for loading long slender projectiles providing good aerodynamic efficiency and external ballistic performance for the projectile diameter. For some loads, the 6.5mm Creedmoor is capable of duplicating the muzzle velocity or trajectory of the .300 Winchester Magnum while generating significantly-lower recoil, based on lighter projectile weight.
Faxon Firearms Barrels have quality embedded in their DNA from the very beginning. Manufactured in Faxon's Greater Cincinnati facility, each barrel begins its life as raw, bar stock. Machined from 416-R Stainless Steel, all Faxon barrels are fully stress relieved, air-gauge tested, and 11-degree target crowned to ensure superior accuracy. All assemblies are Torqued to Mil-Spec, Head Space Checked, Upper Receivers are Trued and Barrels are Bedded to insure peek Accuracy and Performance. All Weapons have Gas System Adjusted and Test Fired Prior to shipment.
