A Traditional Gas Block is trying to operate with the "one size fits all" solution. BUT Different Barrels, Ammunition Loads and Gas Systems do not always work as effective as they should. Barrel Manufactures typically Oversize the Gas Port to ensure that the Weapon Cycles correctly. Unfortunately this can lead to an Over-gas condition which causes a multitude of Recoil and Cycling woes. Some correction can be made with Different Muzzle Brakes, Buffer Weight or Buffer Spring Rates. While these can and do work they are NOT the preferred method of correction. To achieve the best performance from your Rifle, it's necessary to tune it. An Adjustable Gas Block is used to tune the Gas System for optimum performance.
